Tips for Writing Good Questions
- Avoid yes or no questions – this requires that people answer the question in more detail.
- Ask questions that apply to a broader situation than the one at which you are currently looking.
- Consider questions that are based on morals and opinions rather than simply researched fact.
- Sometimes good questions come in more than one part – you may need to prime the reader's thinking and then ask more probing questions.
- Try not to influence the person reading and responding to the question – be neutral in your word choice.
