Some questions to keep in mind when you are looking for a tax service

• Will you be charged based on the simplicity or complexity of your tax return, or do they have set fees?
• Will they ask you questions to gather all the information they need to get you all the tax savings and benefits that you are entitled to, or do they complete your tax return based only on the information you bring them?
• Will they help you plan your taxes and give you advice for the future? (Do they do tax planning as well as tax preparation, or just tax preparation?)
• Will you get support when you need it any time during the year for the same fee? For example, if the CRA has questions about your income tax return, will they help you understand the questions and provide the CRA with the necessary answers?
• Are they CRA approved?
• The CRA requires services that prepare taxes for individuals to file electronically, using a system called EFILE.* Do they use EFILE?
