I want to know what percentage of the entire mixture is blue.
2 blue cans : 3 yellow cans 2 blue cans : total cans = 2 : 5 2/(5 ) x 100% = 40% blue
2 blue cans : 4 yellow cans 2 blue cans : total cans = 2 : 6 2/6 x 100% = 33.3% blue
3 blue cans : 4 yellow cans 3 blue cans : total cans = 3 : 7 3/7 x 100% = 43% blue
The mixture that is the bluest is 3 blue cans mixed with 4 yellow cans.
