A rate is a comparison of two quantities with different units.

A unit rate is a rate with a second term of 1.

Unit rates are written using numbers, symbols and words such as:
100 km/hour,
6 metres per second,
$2/can.

This is an advertisement for bags of milk (4L for $4.29) and cartons of milk(1L for $2.99)
